Yes! All WIRUlink fibre packages on the Openserve network are 100% uncapped and unshaped. We enforce no Fair Usage Policies (FUPs) and will not throttle your line, allowing you to stream, game, and download endlessly.
Historically, Openserve offered asymmetrical speeds (e.g., download is faster than upload). However, depending on the package tier and your specific area, Openserve now offers highly competitive upload speeds designed to adequately support seamless cloud backups, smart homes, and video conferencing.
If Openserve fibre infrastructure is already live in your street, standard installations typically take between 7 to 14 working days. If an Openserve ONT (white wall box) is already inside your property from a previous tenant, remote activation can take just 1 to 3 working days.
Absolutely. If you currently have an active Openserve line with another ISP (like Telkom, Afrihost, or Webafrica), migrating to WIRUlink is a simple and seamless process. Simply sign up, and our activations team will coordinate the switch with minimal downtime.
Yes, WIRUlink includes a free, high-performance dual-band Wi-Fi router on selected 12-month or 24-month contracts. The router arrives pre-configured, making your setup truly plug-and-play.
You can use the 'Check Coverage' tool on the WIRUlink website. Just click the button, enter your physical address, and our real-time coverage map will instantly confirm if your area is covered by the massive Openserve network.
Openserve equips its main exchanges and distribution nodes with heavy-duty backup batteries and generators. To keep your internet running during loadshedding, you only need a mini-UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to power the Openserve ONT and your WIRUlink Wi-Fi router at home.
Yes, you can easily upgrade or downgrade your line speed as your digital needs change. Simply submit a request via our client portal or call our support desk. Upgrades are mostly seamless and reflect by the start of your new billing cycle.
