Yes! A major advantage of the MetroFibre network is that all standard packages feature symmetrical line speeds. This means your upload speeds are exactly as fast as your download speeds—perfect for cloud backups, high-quality video calls, and responsive gaming.
Absolutely. All our MetroFibre packages are 100% uncapped, unshaped, and free of any Fair Usage Policies (FUPs). You can stream in 4K, game, and download heavily without ever being throttled, regardless of data usage.
If MetroFibre infrastructure is live in your street, standard installations typically take between 7 to 14 working days from order approval. If a MetroFibre ONT (wall box) is already installed on your premises from a previous tenant, remote activation usually takes just a few days.
Yes, WIRUlink includes a free, high-performance dual-band Wi-Fi router on selected 12-month or 24-month contracts. The router arrives fully pre-configured for simple plug-and-play installation.
You can use the 'Check Coverage' tool on the WIRUlink website. Just click the button, enter your physical home or business address, and our real-time map will instantly tell you if MetroFibre is active, in progress, or planned for your area.
MetroFibre ensures their core network distribution nodes are backed up by generators and batteries. To keep your internet running during loadshedding at home, you simply need a small mini-UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to power your MetroFibre ONT (wall box) and your WIRUlink Wi-Fi router.
Yes, you can easily upgrade or downgrade your line speed as your household or business needs change. Simply submit a request via our client portal or call our support desk. Upgrades are mostly handled seamlessly and typically reflect at the start of your new billing cycle.
If you are moving, please notify WIRUlink well in advance. We will check the coverage at your new destination and manage the relocation of your service. Note that the physical MetroFibre ONT box must be left attached to the wall at your old home, as it remains the property of the network operator.
